Google is testing Call for Me, a Gemini feature that places outgoing calls to businesses on the user’s behalf. The pilot is limited to the US, runs in beta in the Google Phone app, and is available to Pixel 11 owners on a paid Gemini subscription.

According to TechCrunch, the agent calls from the user’s real phone number, navigates IVR menus, waits on hold for a human representative, and relays details the user approved beforehand. Google lists restaurant bookings, rescheduling appointments, and checking product availability as the initial scenarios. A live transcript runs on screen during the call, and the user can take over at any point.

Google attributes the closed nature of the test to the need to calibrate the model for non-linear, live conversation before a broader release.
