OpenAI has launched GPT-6 Astra, its newest flagship model, with President Greg Brockman declaring “Welcome to the AGI era” during the press briefing. The model was trained on over 100,000 GPUs at OpenAI’s Stargate facility in Texas, marking the company’s largest training run to date.

Astra posts strong benchmark results across specialized tasks: 97.6% on FrontierMath Tier 4 v2, 98.6% on ARC-AGI-3, 100% on ExploitBench, 95.9% on BenchCAD, and 74.1% on DeepSWE v1.1 for agentic coding. OpenAI says Astra will roll out to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, as well as through the API and AWS, “in the coming days.” API pricing is set at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
