OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Anthropic, AWS, Cisco, CrowdStrike, and around a hundred other companies have signed an open letter urging the protection of critical infrastructure from AI-written attacks — using AI itself. The coalition warns that the balance of power currently favors defenders: models automate the discovery and patching of vulnerabilities that have accumulated in systems for decades. But this advantage is not permanent, so such tools must be adopted now while it lasts. The letter advises corporations to raise cyber defense to top-management level and calls on governments to strengthen coordination and industry funding.
