Google Unveils Nano Banana 2 Lite and Gemini Omni Flash
Google has released Nano Banana 2 Lite and Gemini Omni Flash—two new generative media tools focused on speed and affordability. Nano Banana 2 Lite is the fastest image model in its line, claiming ~4 seconds per text-to-image generation at $0.034 per 1K images, while maintaining solid prompt adherence, character consistency, and readable in-image text. Gemini Omni Flash enables video generation and natural language editing from text, images, and video references at $0.10 per second, with the two models designed to work together: Nano Banana generates an image, then Omni Flash turns it into a video. The Interactions API supports session history and up to three sequential edits, though current limitations include a 10-second cap on video generation and no audio references or scene extension support in the API yet.
