OpenAI has begun rolling out an update for GPT-5.5 Instant in ChatGPT. The update improves context retention in multi-step prompts with complex conditions and fixes a looping issue—when users challenge a response or request clarifications, the model now restructures its reasoning rather than duplicating the initial output. Commercial query handling has also been optimized, allowing the model to combine geodata, business information, and images in its reasoning. OpenAI reports more accurate goal recognition in comparison and decision-making tasks as well.
