Japanese startup SakanaAI has launched Marlin, an AI analyst agent now available on Pro, Team, and Enterprise plans under a pay-per-use model. The agent operates autonomously for up to 8 hours—forming hypotheses, gathering web data, verifying facts, and producing multi-page reports with presentations. Built on architecture from Sakana’s The AI Scientist project, Marlin uses long-form reasoning, multi-model optimization, and modified Monte Carlo tree search algorithms. Closed beta testing ran since April with 300 finance and consulting professionals.
