OpenAI has launched the Rosalind Biodefense Program, opening free access to GPT-Rosalind — a specialized model for analyzing molecules, proteins, genes, and disease mechanisms. The company will fully cover usage costs for verified academic, non-profit, and government laboratories, as well as small biotech startups.

First introduced in April, GPT-Rosalind is designed to accelerate the transition from scientific hypotheses to real-world experiments in biodefense. Eligible teams can apply through the program’s dedicated portal.
