Anthropic Introduces Dynamic Workflows in Claude Code
Anthropic has unveiled dynamic workflows in Claude Code—a new agentic development feature that breaks complex tasks into subtasks and distributes them across hundreds of parallel agents, with dedicated reviewer agents validating results before merging. The feature was demonstrated by porting the Bun runtime from Zig to Rust, where one workflow determined correct Rust lifetimes for every struct field, another rewrote each .rs file with parallel agents and dual reviewers, and a final cycle ran builds and tests until zero errors remained.
Workflows are defined as auto-generated scripts containing structured prompt execution loops—for example, “for each file, launch an agent with this prompt” followed by checks like “two reviewer agents approved the code.” Progress is checkpointed so interrupted tasks resume from where they left off, making the system viable for engineering work spanning hours or even days that would previously have taken weeks. While the token consumption is substantial and the most compelling use case so far is cross-stack porting (where agents have clear success criteria), the feature points toward a future where Claude autonomously plans, executes, reviews, and iterates on large-scale software projects.
