Google DeepMind has partnered with Fenris Creations to use EVE Online as a sandbox for AGI research. The experiments will run on isolated offline instances, separate from the live Tranquility server, testing AI in a complex environment with real player-like dynamics. More details are expected to be revealed at Fanfest 2026 next week. The announcement coincides with the studio’s independence from Pearl Abyss and its rebrand to Fenris Creations.
