Anthropic has contracted the full compute capacity of SpaceX’s Colossus 1—over 300 MW and more than 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs—adding to existing deals with Amazon, Google/Broadcom, Microsoft/NVIDIA, and Fluidstack. The added capacity has been converted into expanded limits for Claude Code and the Claude API:

  • Claude Code: five-hour limits are now doubled for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise tiers; Pro and Max peak-hour restrictions have also been removed.
  • Claude API: Opus limits are raised across all tiers, with Tier 4 now supporting up to 10M input tokens and 800K output tokens per minute.

Colossus 1 capacity will be prioritized for Claude Pro and Max subscribers. The companies also expressed interest in deploying gigawatt-scale AI nodes in orbit, though this remains a declaration rather than a signed agreement.
