Google is considering integrating advertisements into its Gemini AI app, following OpenAI’s lead with ads in ChatGPT’s free and budget plans. Google business chief Philipp Schindler highlighted that ads, if implemented well, could provide valuable commercial information without rushing the process. Currently, ads appear in Google’s AI Mode and AI Overviews but not yet in the standalone Gemini app. Transparency and ensuring ads do not influence AI responses remain critical concerns.
