Users must provide a passport, driver’s license, or ID card, along with a selfie camera check, while digital copies and student IDs are not accepted. The verification process is supported by the service Persona, which encrypts and stores the biometric data securely.

Anthropic assures that the collected data will not be used for AI model training and will only be accessed in dispute cases such as account appeals. Persona acts as the data controller, with Anthropic maintaining strict control over data access.
